Capt. George Hamlin USAF, flying a Republic F-105F, dodges anti-aircraft artillery bursts while on a tactical strike mission north of the DMZ in Viet Nam. Capt. Hamlin and his EWO, Capt. Gary Checkette, served with the “Wild Weasels” of the 44th Tactical Fighter Squadron based at Korat, Thailand. Capt. Hamlin received the Distinguished Flying Cross while flying his 98th mission during the night of September 12, 1968.
