This North American P-51 was the mount of Captain Robert “Punchy” Powell of the 328th Fighter Squadron, 352nd Fighter Group. The airplane carries the colorful trade mark paint scheme of the “Bluenosed Bastards from Bodney” as the 352nd FG became known. Flying from their field at Bodney, England, Captain Powell and his squadron mates helped play an important part in creating the Mustang legend.
