This aircraft, AS64195, is the first of twenty MB-2s built by Martin. Later designated NBS-1, these bombers are best remembered today as being the aircraft that participated in the famous Billy Mitchell demonstration of 1921 when the ex-German battle cruiser Ostfreisland and other ships were sunk by aerial bombardment using special 2,000 pound bombs.
