The B-18 Bolo was basically a military adaptation of the Douglas DC-2 commercial airliner. Although it was quickly made obsolete by other bomber designs such as the Boeing B-17, it performed an important role in the defense of the Continental United States in the months after the attack on Pearl Harbor. This B-18 carries the marking of the 88th Observation Squadron, 1940.
