The Martin PBM Mariner was the direct replacement for the PBY Catalina. First assigned to VP-32 stationed at the NAS Coco Solo, Panama Canal Zone, PBMs spread out around the globe with the majority serving in the Pacific Theater. The Mariner had a long service life performing reconnaissance and air sea rescue duties for the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard for more than twenty years.
