The Keystone B-6A was the last of America’s biplane bombers. A big aircraft by the standards of the day, the B-6A could take off at over 13,000 pounds gross weight. Here it is shown with yellow wings and empennage. As early as 1924 yellow was used on the flying surfaces to increase visibility in the event the aircraft went down in a remote area. In 1927, yellow wings and tail became the standard paint scheme for all Army aircraft.
