By 1937 Pennsylvania Airlines and Central Airlines merged to become Pennsylvania Central Airlines and obtained 15 ex-United Air Lines Model 247Ds. Although the PCA aircraft were left in bare aluminum finish with red markings some machines were painted bright red overall with white markings.
