Beginning in 1940 TWA’s Model 307Bs provided travelers with the fastest scheduled long range airline service – cruising up to 220 mph. Postwar Stratoliner airline service began in late 1945 when TWA resumed coast-to-coast flights with its upgraded 307B-1 aircraft. TWA used its five 307B-1’s until 1951.
