Transocean Airlines acquired heir Stratocruisers from BOAC in 1958. The major airlines were shedding all their 377s by this time and the few airlines that operated the big double-decker airplane found them expensive to run and difficult to make them profitable. By 1960 not only had Transocean’s Stratocruisers left the scene so had the airline itself.
