This poster depicts four important aircraft flown in the Pacific Theater of World War II by the U.S. Navy. The Brewster Buffalo was the U.S. Navy's first all metal monoplane fighter. It saw service with the U.S. Marines at Midway. The Grumman Wildcat was the first-line fighter of the early Pacific war. The Douglas Dauntless was the standard for U.S. Navy dive bombers and was instrumental in America's victory at the Battle of Midway. The Grumman Bearcat, although appearing late in the war, raised the bar for propeller driven fighter performance.
